Decks have
evolved over the past few years to become even more of an extension
to the outdoor living space. With this evolution, trades
have evolved and now Deck Builders are a class of trade unto themselves.
No longer is the treated
10 by 10 deck enough. Decks are designed in all shapes and sizes
as before, but innovative new products continue to shape consumer
tastes and demands for use with their decks. Appliances, fire pits,
decking and railing materials, plumbing, cabinetry, roofs, skylights
and more products are being used in all areas of the US.
In Minneapolis, decks
are a major feature with upper end homes, since outdoor entertaining,
relaxing and recreating can only happen for 5 or 6 months a year
on outdoor decks.
Topics include:
- Who is designing the
deck the contractor, architect, homeowner - who?
- Who decides what deck
tops and railing systems are used?
- How do deck builders
learn about and evaluate new products?
- What new products
in the last 3 years have significantly benefited deck builders
by upgrading their job quality and decreasing their construction
time?
- What are the important
attributes of the suppliers and brands they use most?
- Your questions here
