Residential Indoor Air Quality Focus Group

Fact: Indoor air quality is making its way to becoming one of the most important aspects of best practice environmentally designed (Green) residential builds. As of January 1, 2010, will it become even more important?

On Tuesday, October 13, 2009, John Cashmore of Market Resource Associates, Minneapolis, MN conducted an in-depth focus group with residential architects to understand the following:

  • How did residential architects select products to assure indoor air quality and surpass Federal air quality standards in residential construction, if at all?
  • How did residential architects leverage, through design, fenestration products to enhance indoor air quality?
  • How will increased indoor air quality effect insulation, drywall, house wraps, cabinetry, counter tops, carpeting, ventilation, lighting, heating, cooling and related products?
  • Which new products most enhance indoor air quality, not only during construction, but during the life of the structure?
  • Which products detract from residential indoor air quality, and are avoided, but if reformulated would be back in residential architects consideration set?
